Romana Kassam

Romana Kassam is a self taught multi-disciplinary artist from Tkaronto (Toronto) focused on telling the stories of the South Asian diaspora of Canada through murals, music and experiences. Over the last seven years Romana has also been commissioned by several brands and companies to help tell their unique story including Nando’s, The Raw Juice Company, TedX, Saks Fifth Avenue, the City of Toronto, Wattpad and Loopio. Last year in the height of the BLM movement, Romana brought together 16 mural artists to paint the streets of Kensington Market in Toronto with “Black Lives Matter.” This was the largest self-organized mural in support of the BLM movement in Canada. She is extremely passionate about inclusion, equity and storytelling and hopes to use her art to share the narratives of all marginalized communities.
