This twenty-three storey mural produced in collaboration with world-renowned Spanish street artist Okuda San Miguel transformed Toronto’s skyline, provided paid opportunities for local artists and cultural programming for local residents.
Project Type: Permanent Exhibit
Artist: Okuda San Miguel
Artist Assistant: Stephanie Bellefleur, Kayla Buium and Adrian Hayles
About the Project: Equilibrium references the universal balance between nature, humanity and knowledge. Spanish artist Okuda San Miguel has incorporated a totem admired across a diversity of cultures throughout history, as a central image. It is the artistʼs intention that individual viewers should find their own meaning and personal connection with the work, but has thoughtfully selected colours and imagery that conjure feelings of positivity and unity.
This mural was produced in partnership with StART (StreetARToronto), Knightstone Capital Management Inc., Parkside Student Residence, Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) and Turner & Townsend.
