Vesna Asanovic is a Toronto-based illustrator, born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. She studied illustration at OCAD University and completed her thesis in 2012. Vesna enjoys building landscapes with a focus of people or person. She is interested in how the viewer reads shapes and lines and wants the viewer’s eye to delightfully move around the artwork and engage in the narrative on a personal and emotional level.
Vesna's artistic process starts with seeking inspiration from past sketchbook entries. After doing multiple drafts, she scans the work and uses Adobe programs to complete it. Her work has been featured in editorial publications such as NYLON magazine, Lenny Letter, Broken Pencil and the Walrus.
