York University Station Murals (Safe Flight Home)

Safe Flight Home is a community-based public art project in partnerships with FLAP Canada, that began in 2020 through intergenerational engagement with free participatory arts workshops, resulting in a public art exhibition across North York.

Artist Statement: The project speaks about freedon of movement, resilience, vulnerability, and hope within the context of our experience over the last year whilst putting a spotlight on the impact of human intervention on the natural world; the project in many ways helped contextualize and process our current human situation. We covered a lot through a single beautiful symbol - the bird.
